El Castillo is the famous Mayan step pyramid situated in the center of Chichen Itza. It consists of succeeding terraces topped with a temple at the very top. El Castillo is also famous for the "feathered serpent" that through tricks of shadow and light, is visible during the Spring Equinox.
THE STORY...
Once upon a time there was a team of students from The University of Michigan who were searching for a certain reaction. They looked high and low, but could not find the solution in Ann Arbor. Their SSG leader, Eric Chen, told them that they had to search for clues at the sites of the "Seven New Wonders of the World." So they set off on their grand journey, first visiting Asia, where they stopped by The Great Wall of China and The Taj Mahal. Then they made a stop at Petra on their way to the Colosseum. Not finding anything in Europe, they hopped over to South America, where they tried Christ the Redeemer in Brazil and Machu Picchu in Peru. Sadly, they could not find anything in those places either. Tired and hopeless, they hiked over to their last destination in Yucatan, Mexico. There, the ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza, as well as a team of scientists headed by Trost awaited them...
